Children need so many things to help them succeed in school. Many times we focus on the big things; technology, art supplies, classroom libraries, etc., and forget about the small things like paper and pencils. My fourth graders are still developing their writing skills and have not yet moved to the more sophisticated ink pen. They are still writing with pencils. Although we have them in abundance, I have not been able to keep up with the demand for a consistent, working pencil sharpener. The small ones I've been able to purchase have not been able to withstand the beating they take at the hands of 70 nine and ten-year-olds. It would be awesome and greatly appreciated if we could receive "industrial strength" sharpeners to make our work easier.
