All of the items chosen are meant to satisfy a different sensory experience, be it visual, auditory, or kinesthetic.
The small manipulatives help students focus and build, which engage their brains in a creative way.
The light box will help students to play with different visual stimulations and can be extremely engaging/soothing to students with low vision or who are on the spectrum.
The tubes can be filled with a variety of items to allow for visual and auditory processing which can be engaging and soothing to a multitude of students.
Many students need to move and engage their bodies with music, this satisfies their kinesthetic needs. This is why the bounce balls, videos and cd's, music sticks, and more will help to engage their bodies and then allow them to center themselves.
