I try my best to keep my classroom as engaging as possible. We do many transitions throughout the class. One minute we will be working individually, then with partners, and then in groups. Unfortunately, my class is only 50 minutes long; therefore, cleaning up has to be quick! The pencil pouches and binder rings will allow us to store calculators and clickers in the pouches that will be attached to the desk. This will prevent the calculators and clickers from falling on floor and save time from me going around and collecting them.
Who doesn't like writing on desks? White boards are fun, but they can also take time away from lectures and lessons because they have to be passed out and collected. I would love to put dry erase tape on the desk for students to write their responses on and I can just walk around and see what they write. I can also have them write a question for the next class!
In every class that I have ever taught, I always have that one student who prefers to work standing, usually due to lack of sleep. A standing desk will allow them to work in a comfortable manner.
