My students meet me on the carpet many times throughout each school day. Our whole group space is where students receive the majority of their instruction. It鈥檚 a place where I check in, guide, and connect with my class. We meet together for mini-lessons, for class meetings, social skill building, and for read-alouds. This is one of the most important areas in my classroom, although not all students are able to view the lesson materials from their carpet spot. A tall, new, rolling easel center will allow my students to be more engaged in our mini lessons. It will help all students view the material they need to help them become successful. The tiny board I use now often leads to lots of calls of, 鈥淢rs. N. can you lift it up?鈥 and, 鈥淗ey, I can鈥檛 see it!鈥 This new board will help all students see the material as well as rolling it away easily when it鈥檚 time to use the overhead projector.
