Children love being read to. My students would benefit greatly from these books. It gives them a chance to see and hear good reading being modeled. Big books are a great resource to engage the students in meaningful literacy experiences.
Students will use these big books during group learning stations. They will read with a partner using pointers and modeling good reading strategies. This familiar reading will build fluency during independent reading. These books would increase my students' appreciation for literacy. My goal as an educator is to provide as many meaningful opportunities as I can to increase my students' learning.
