Our school recently decided to move from a basal reader that gave students little choice of what they could read to a Reader's Workshop format which allows them to learn through books they are interested in and are on their reading level. It allows them to have a love of reading like I have never seen before. As a teacher, I help them use the books they choose on their own to learn the skills they need to succeed. As students, they talk to me about what they are reading and I am able to help them on the skills they need to work on! The book bins and storage will give us a way to organize our reading.
