I work in an ELD classroom where most of my students are learning English as a Second Language. They come from different backgrounds, some have lived here for most their lives while others have recently moved to the United States. The school I work for is a Title 1 school where the majority of our students are on Free and Reduced Lunch. As I've said before my students are resilient. They are overcoming many challenges and continuously work hard to form a better understanding of the English language. Many of my students have limited access to alternative forms of nonfiction texts. TIME for Kids is a motivating way to incorporate literacy and current events in a fun magazine style format.
