Technology has revolutionized education. Students are very technology driven and as teachers we must recognize this and use it in favor of their education. Our district purchased academic programs that help students improve their skills in math, reading, and language arts. The programs are very helpful but unfortunately we do not have the tools we need to use them. Currently my classroom has 1 student computer. Each program requires students to login for at least 30 minutes three times a week. We visit the computer lab once a week. If we had an iPad in our classroom, my students would be able to spend more time on such programs and meet the expectations. An iPad would allow my students to work on Imagine Learning, First in Math, and iStation during our reading and math centers.
