These building supplies will allow us to create a Maker Space in the Library Media Center. I have a few sets of Legos I allow the students to use to do Lego challenges; however, there is not enough for an entire class to participate. All of the students are excited about the challenges and are capable of producing great works if provided the proper materials. The Lego bricks will provide the students with a learning center which will provide them the opportunity to build and create imaginative worlds and simple machines. These Learning Centers will also be extremely beneficial to our ELL students, who may struggle in expressing themselves with language, but are capable of creating amazing products. Maker spaces are meant to serve as a place for students to think, reflect, and create. Who knows? The next great engineer might be in our school.
