My students attend a public middle school in a low socioeconomic status urban community. They have very little exposure to anything outside of their community. Many seem to live in their own urban neighborhood "bubble" and have a difficult time understanding and believing anything that they don't normally see in their neighborhood. When they are exposed to something new in my science class their faces light up like a kid on Christmas morning! This is why I would love to get these materials to help open their eyes to a whole new world!
