We are a school for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students ages 3-22 within Boston Public Schools. All of my students are on an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and present with a hearing loss. In addition, my students present with significant communication difficulties, including speech and language delays and disorders. Despite these challenges, my students are motivated to engage and communicate, and use a variety of modalities, including spoken English, ASL, and augmentative/alternative communication strategies to share their messages.
