After a year and a half of online learning, my students have craved the feeling of pencil on paper and a break from the bright light of a computer screen. Because of this newfound love of writing over typing, my students have quickly become overwhelmed with keeping up with all of their physical work.
This project will help students learn the organizational skills and responsibilities they need in order to be successful in class and in the world outside of the classroom.
By having a binder with organizational tabs, students can organize their work in a concise and productive manner. With a bookshelf to house these binders within the classroom; I hope to relieve students' stress around keeping up with looseleaf journals, graded work, and worksheets/graphic organizers. By the end of the school year, students will have an entire binder full of their personal journals, essays, and literary analysis, to take with them to the next journey of their ELA careers.
