My Students: My students look forward to reading with their favorite friend, and want to do so in a comfortable area of the classroom. Allowing the students extra time to read their favorite book, creates better readers. During the afternoon, right before recess, my students want to read!
My students attend a Title 1 Pre-K-5 elementary school. The students work very hard. When the regular class/morning work is finished, I allow students to select a book to read. They choose "Authors' Chair" time and interact with each other and their favorite stories. Our school is small and have the best interest of students, always! The students want to be comfortable while reading to each other, and will often ask if they can sit in the floor. However, the floor is a little hard, and uncomfortable. I want to create an environment that makes them feel they can be comfortable and relaxed when reading.
