Students at my school often enter with little to no literacy in English. They grow quickly because they are motivated and diligent. However, many reading materials at their instructional level do not match their developmental or cognitive curiosity levels.
As my students progress in their reading acuity, they crave books that appeal to their interests but that are still accessible to their skill level. This project will give my students access to all kinds books on their reading level. They will be able to have new books that they are so excited to read everyday. This will also give them a chance to really get pumped about reading Spanish texts!
This will make a huge difference when students are picking their own books. They will have the freedom to choose from so many books on so many different reading levels. They will be eager to start and finish books because there will be so many amazing books to choose from! This new library will help my students continue a love for reading!
