Hello, I am the proud, art teacher at Western High School where I am trying to build up the Visual Art Program. As an artist and an educator I have been actively working with youth in the Louisville, and the state of Kentucky for the last 15 years. I am the director of Brick Street Art Studios in New Albany, IN, a member of PYRO Gallery in Louisville, and also teach for the Kentucky Center Governor's School for the Arts (GSA).
Previously, I served as the Visual Art teacher for the Louisville Collegiate School.
Now at Western, with a very limited budget, I am finding it quite challenging to develop great projects and hope with the support of Donors Choose that my students will have access to higher quality materials and supplies!
Too many of the students at Western are survivors of some really traumatic situations. It is my wish that all my students experience the power of art to heal, strengthen and inspire.
