My 9th and 12th grade students come from the underserved city of Long Beach, California. Our school (a high school focusing on college-readiness) is comprised mostly of students living below the poverty line. Many of my students are either first-generation Americans or have recently come to this country with their families. For many of my students, English is not their first language.
Because our school is in such a low-income area, I must find gracious and generous people (like you!) to help give my students the same opportunities that children from other, more affluent communities receive (like having multiple text books, going on field trips, or simply having basic school rescources). Thank you so much for your generosity!
