I am requesting a white board in my classroom to support my lessons and make my student's learning environment more accessible.
Currently, I only have one "white board" in my classroom which is made out of 3ft x 4ft shower board, was hung with unsafe and imbalanced fasteners and is covered in stains. Because I only have one board, I am very limited in terms of what I can write on it while I am teaching as well as what I can leave on the board for the students to reference throughout the days lesson or unit. In addition to the limited use throughout the lesson, the board is located in the corner of my room which has made creating an accessible seating chart(where every student can see it) a challenge.
I have put in a request with my school and district for a larger and newer white board 4 times through a number of different avenues and each time my request is denied.I would love two 4ft H x 6ft W boards to cover the front of my classroom. This will give me enough room to post my daily agenda, the lesson objectives, a warm up question for the students, and use it throughout the period as I am teaching.
