The book, "The Last Lecture" by Randy Pausch will be utilized to teach a future generation of healthcare professionals from low-income households about caring, compassion, empathy, joy, humanity, and living life to the fullest using the holistic approach to modern healthcare. Through collaborative project-based learning, students will work together to answer questions surrounding the major themes of the book and create a comprehensive employee-training plan for healthcare professionals designed to empower healthcare professionals to understand and incorporate Pausch's lessons in a holistic approach to their everyday care of the patient, and communications with families and other healthcare professionals. Through this project, students will develop effective communication skills, teamwork skills, time-management skills, leadership skills, problem-solving skills, critical-thinking skills, and will learn the importance of compassion and empathy, which are essential employability skills in the healthcare industry.

About my class
