This project will fund resources for two math classes for an entire year. Many of the supplies purchased will last the math department for years to follow. Our curriculum (Interactive Math Program) challenges students to discover math through opened-ended explorations that mirror how math is done in the outside world. Students will shift their focus from rote memorization to hands-on learning and investigation. Furthermore, this multi-faceted approach to math education will help students improve their skills in critical thinking, communication, and collaboration. This approach will also help our students master the soft skills necessary to be successful in industry. Additionally, the curriculum creates an equitable learning space where a variety of learners can enter into discovery and discussion. We will be able to reach more learners with greater depth!
