My students are enthusiastic 5th graders who are excited for their final year in elementary school. They are bursting with energy to have a strong year and are highly motivated to learn. Their positive attitude enables them to be hard workers and well behaved. My class is made up of 35% English Language Learners which has me using various teaching methods to help them learn the English language along with the other 5th grade standards, including the Common Core. I have students with learning disabilities and visual impairments, so having additional support in the classroom helps, such as technology, manipulatives, and visual aids. While being at a Title I school, we are limited to various supplies, classroom furniture, and technology, but we don't let that get in the way of learning! The students are flexible and creative in how they learn and apply themselves in class!
