These headphones greatly help to provide equitable access to basic technology that is needed in our school. In our Music Class, we focus heavily on Music Media and Technology projects. This involves Music Production, Music Composition, Film Editing, and so much more.
Our projects require students to have individual headphones so that we are not distracting each other and so that tasks can be equitably differentiated and accommodating for ALL students. In a Music class, the volume can be very loud which causes adversity for students who are unable to bring in headphones from their homes;. Students who are able to bring in headphones from their homes are more engaged and are able to maintain focus on their tasks. We want to provide headphones for all students so that everyone can be successful and can work at their own pace and volume.
In addition to being used in Music Class, students will be able to use their individual headphones in other classrooms as well. By providing our students with access to headphones for school, we can ensure that everyone's needs are met in Music Class and beyond.
