We have used them in so many different ways already. I have been able to utilize them to add to many lessons. For example, when learning about biodiversity loss, we read an article and then I passed out the dry and erase and told the students that we were going to play a game. I had the students write down an animal and then reveal their board. Any repeats were out. They continued until we were left with only a few students. We then had a discussion about how species are starting to become endangered and extinct. My students loved the game. \r\nI introduced the materials to my 7th graders as a way to review for a test. My students wrote down their responses and I was able to identify in real time which students were struggling with certain concepts and where the needs arose. My students loved writing on the boards and didn't even mind that the questions were about the nitrogen cycle. \r\nOur most recent use for these boards occured at the end of our unit on genetically engineering technology. Students researched pros and cons of the research and then debated the topics with other classmates. The audience of peers than voted (Aye or Nay) on who they felt won the debate. Looking forward, I hope to use these materials a more of a way to assess and review. Possibly quick exit ticket activities for immediate feedback. These materials have certainly added to our class.","fullyFundedDate":1742528544524,"projectUrl":"project/erase-barriers-to-science-discovery-whi/9139841/","projectTitle":"Erase Barriers to Science Discovery: White Boards, Bright Futures!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Oesterle","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7627965_orig.jpg?crop=1740,1740,x0,y411&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1741032694471","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-oesterle"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_62129","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":625,"numTeachers":34,"percentFrplEligible":21,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":41,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":50,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"18.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":81.5,"schoolId":62129,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Continental Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Continental Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/continental-elementary-school-district-39/continental-elementary-school/62129"}
