Students were filled with excitement when they first explored the new materials, especially the robotics kits, solar bots, and STEM experiment sets. Many immediately began asking questions, brainstorming ideas, and imagining what they could build. These resources gave students a meaningful opportunity to engage in real-world problem solving and engineering from the very start.\r\n\r\nUsing the donated materials, students have completed several engaging challenges, including the Bone Bridge Challenge and the Snowman Stretch Challenge, where they designed, tested, and improved structures using pipe cleaners, straw, googly eyes, and other materials. We also explored electrical circuits, after which students independently built their own robotic STEM kits. For many, this was their first time handling a screwdriver and assembling parts on their own. They learned how to correctly connect wires to motors and batteries, troubleshoot issues, and refine their designs. Watching their confidence grow as their robots successfully moved was a powerful moment of learning and accomplishment.\r\n\r\nThis project has had a powerful impact on student learning by deepening critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration skills—key goals of our GATE program. The materials made it possible to offer enriched, inquiry-based lessons that challenge students at higher cognitive levels and foster a love for STEM learning. Thank you and may you will be blessed abundantly!","fullyFundedDate":1759149011843,"projectUrl":"project/stem-sparks-launching-a-successful-gate/9455775/","projectTitle":"STEM Sparks: Launching a Successful GATE Program!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Galay's Gifted Class","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7093340_orig.png?crop=1277,1277,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1752512028693","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-galay"},{"teacherId":10053911,"projectId":9407374,"letterContent":"We are so grateful to the generous donors on Ðǿմ«Ã½ and the amazing organizations who made this possible. When the boxes arrived, my students were so excited. Their faces lit up as we unpacked the magnetic tiles, noise-canceling headphones, the 3-layered rolling cart, and snacks.\r\n\r\nRight away, they began building creative structures with the magnetic tiles, working together and sharing ideas. The noise-canceling headphones have been especially helpful for students who are sensitive to sound. They are now more focused and calm during lessons. One student said, \"It's quiet now. I can do my work!\"\r\n\r\nThe rolling cart has made organizing materials so much easier, especially during centers. And the snacks have helped students stay energized and ready to learn throughout the day.\r\n\r\nCurrently, we are using the magnetic tiles for a STEM and writing project where students build structures and then describe them using complete sentences. Next, we will be adding story elements to their creations, such as characters and problems, to support both creativity and language development.\r\n\r\nThank you for getting a glimpse into our classroom and for making a real impact on our learning journey.","fullyFundedDate":1749743576837,"projectUrl":"project/learning-through-senses/9407374/","projectTitle":"Learning Through Senses","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lou","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10053911"},{"teacherId":8364371,"projectId":8988850,"letterContent":"Thank you for all your help in getting my students things to help review their math.
