My students were very grateful to receive new books, especially ones that they are able to read and are interested in. They love the 'choose' books where they learn about a historical event and make choices to see if they can survive it. They were shocked each time they didn't, and then thought it was hilarious. I work with students who have reading disabilities, so having a book that they can read by themselves, and that is actually engaging with their interests and age level, is so hard to find! Students are practicing fluency and comprehension skills, and do not feel like they are reading books intended for kindergarten/first grade. These items really help me keep them interested in learning.","fullyFundedDate":1755731434260,"projectUrl":"project/turning-pages-changing-lives/9560111/","projectTitle":"Turning Pages, Changing Lives","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hauswirth","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5937481_orig.jpg?crop=414,414,x750,y732&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1566413113452","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/hauswirthbooks"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_51309","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":461,"numTeachers":38,"percentFrplEligible":66,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":65,"percentWhite":30,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 9","studentTeacherRatio":"12.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":57.1,"schoolId":51309,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about West Junior High School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"West Junior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arkansas/west-memphis-school-district/west-junior-high-school/51309"}
