We are excited to share how your contributions are being used and the joy they have brought to our students.\r\n\r\nWe have been using the dramatic play materials daily to support hands-on learning and social development. One special classroom moment was when our students turned the cookie set into a Valentine's shop. They practiced taking turns, using polite language, counting, and imaginative role-play as they \"sold\" treats to their classmates. In January, the campfire set helped us create a pretend cabin experience where students worked together to tell stories, cook imaginary meals, and build cooperative play skills. The toothbrush set has also been part of our routines, helping students learn about self-care while practicing sequencing and conversation.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their excitement filled the room. They were eager to explore, asking questions and immediately jumping into pretend scenarios. It was wonderful to watch their curiosity spark teamwork and creativity right away.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we will continue expanding our dramatic play experiences to connect with classroom themes and lessons. Students will build on their communication, problem-solving, and social skills through guided role-play and collaborative activities. These materials allow us to create meaningful learning opportunities that grow with the children, helping them develop confidence, independence, and essential early learning skills.\r\n\r\nYour support gives our students the chance to learn through joyful play every day. We are incredibly grateful for your investment in their growth and learning.","fullyFundedDate":1763474811352,"projectUrl":"project/little-hands-learn-through-playing/9636176/","projectTitle":"Little Hands Learn Through Playing","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Pena-Lopez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10115617_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754492998905","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10115617"},{"teacherId":9990155,"projectId":9224245,"letterContent":"I want to give a huge thank you to everyone who donated to our classroom project! Because of your generosity, we received an easel, pocket chart stand, and pocket chart, and they have already made such a meaningful impact in our classroom.\r\n\r\nThe easel has been a wonderful tool during carpet time, helping me model lessons, display anchor charts, and keep students engaged in whole-group learning. The pocket chart stand and chart have been equally valuable during centers and writing time students now have a clear, organized way to access materials, practice skills, and work independently. These resources have truly made teaching smoother and more interactive, while also giving students the structure and support they need to succeed.\r\n\r\nMy students were super excited to see the new materials in the classroom and they love that they get to interact with them everyday. My kindergarteners are now using the fuzzy rug, soft seating, and new SEL picture books for our daily \"reading center\" block. One of my favorite moments was watching a student who normally struggles to focus sit cross-legged with a new book and whisper, \"I can sit and read like in the library.\" We've also started \"Book Buddy Mornings,\" where students from a different group each day read with a partner and talk about their favorite characters. The calm space helps them engage deeply, especially with our current theme on emotions and friendship.\r\n\r\nMy students were over the moon once they saw all the books! Several of them gasped and shouted, \"¡Mira! There's an area to sit!\" Each group got to explore the books, touch the soft rug, and kept saying how it looked \"like a real library corner.\" One student rolled on the rub — that's how excited and thankful they were. Their faces lit up with joy, and it truly made all the behind-the-scenes work worthwhile.\r\n\r\nRight now, we're diving into a bilingual author study where students explore books in both Spanish and English, identifying emotions, character actions, and lessons learned. The SEL books from this project are at the heart of this unit. We will explore SEL books and have mini-lessons based on our books.","fullyFundedDate":1740752887460,"projectUrl":"project/reading-corner-makeover/9071971/","projectTitle":"Reading Corner MakeOver","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Toscano","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9902989_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1744225347937","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mstoscanosclassroom"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_79687","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":541,"numTeachers":24,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":6,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":84,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"22.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":65.7,"schoolId":79687,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Armona Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Armona Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/armona-union-elementary-school-district/armona-elementary-school/79687"}
