With your generous donations, I was able to get a 27 classroom set of Boomwhackers (a percussion instrument that looks like a wrapping paper tube), 6 new hand drums, a Cajon Box (a box that sounds like a drum when you hit it with your hand), 72 new sturdy rhythm sticks, and a pack of fun music stickers to engage and encourage my students.\r\n\r\nI am proud to say that all 400 of my students, grades kindergarten through fifth, know what a Cajon Box is now and they love how loud it is. I use it to keep the beat when we are playing together, and I can also use it to model rhythms for them to copy. It's such a simple instrument but it has a powerful impact in our room!\r\n\r\nWe are always in need of more quality hand drums and rhythm sticks. Having so many more helps get them in more students' hands while we play along with different songs, beats, and rhythms. \r\n\r\nFor my second and third graders, we have just started using these Boomwhackers and they are a HUGE hit! We are able to read sheet music to create songs together as a class. It really is magical to watch their faces light up when they recognize the song they've played.","fullyFundedDate":1764726442136,"projectUrl":"project/keeping-the-beat-in-elementary-music/9583656/","projectTitle":"Keeping the Beat in Elementary Music","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Cook","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5386660_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1526187566506","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5386660"},{"teacherId":8926167,"projectId":9302029,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for contributing to our project!
