Instead of just reading from a textbook, students now explore the causes and events of the war through hands-on activities, primary sources, and role-playing. They take on the perspectives of patriots, loyalists, and everyday colonists, which deepens their understanding of the conflict and the tough choices people faced. By engaging in debates, and analyzing historical letters, students are not only building content knowledge, but also practicing empathy, critical thinking, and communication skills.\r\n\r\nThis curriculum has brought new energy into our classroom. We're also using these books to explore culture and identity, sparking meaningful conversations about language, heritage, and community.\r\n\r\nWe have a cozy, inviting library area in our classroom where students love to grab a novel and settle in—some curled up on the rug, others stretched out or sitting quietly on the couch, completely immersed in their stories. These stories are bringing out their competitive spirit in the best way—through reading!\r\n\r\nBecause of your kindness, our classroom is filled with stories—and students who are eager to read them.
