The new gross motor equipment has brought so much joy, energy, and laughter into our daily routine. We use the materials during morning warm-ups, sensory breaks, and motor groups—and the highlight so far has definitely been our first student-designed obstacle course. With hula hoops to hop through, bean bags to toss, and balance paths to conquer, the room was full of cheers and high-fives. One student who usually avoids physical tasks completed the entire course and proudly shouted, \"I did it!\" These tools are helping our students build strength, confidence, and coordination in the most joyful way.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new equipment, the excitement was instant. Eyes widened, smiles grew, and several students immediately started demonstrating their \"best jumps,\" \"fastest spins,\" and most dramatic bean-bag tosses. Even our quieter students couldn't resist joining in. It felt like the whole classroom lit up—and for many of them, movement became something to look forward to rather than something to feel nervous about.\r\n\r\nNext, we're diving into a unit focused on balance and spatial awareness, using the new equipment to create rotating movement stations and themed obstacle challenges. Students will explore new ways to move their bodies, practice self-regulation through active play, and build skills that help them in the classroom and beyond. Thanks to your generosity, learning has become more active, more engaging, and a whole lot more fun. My students are growing stronger and more confident every day—and we couldn't have done it without you!","fullyFundedDate":1746754672539,"projectUrl":"project/moving-for-success-enhancing-gross-moto/9145422/","projectTitle":"Moving for Success: Enhancing Gross Motor Skills Through Engaging Activities","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Jeffrey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6456157_orig.jpg?crop=2094,2094,x0,y48&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1688676033440","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6456157"},{"teacherId":6456157,"projectId":9315200,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our new sensory resources have already made a meaningful difference in our classroom. We've integrated the materials into our daily routines, especially during transitions and learning centers. One of the most impactful moments so far has been during our morning regulation time: students choose a sensory tool—like putty, sand, or a textured fidget—to help prepare their minds and bodies for the day. This simple addition has made our mornings smoother, calmer, and far more focused.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their faces lit up. Some immediately gravitated toward the kinetic sand, excitedly running their fingers through it, while others held the putty gently in their hands and visibly relaxed. A few students who are often hesitant to try new tools warmed up instantly, exploring the textures with big smiles. It was clear from the very first moment that these resources were going to become an essential part of their day.\r\n\r\nOne specific moment that stands out happened during a reading lesson. A student who typically struggles to stay engaged chose a textured sensory tool to hold while listening. Not only did he stay focused for the full lesson, but he also eagerly participated during the discussion—something that hasn't always been easy for him. These materials are giving my students access to learning in a way that honors their needs and strengths.\r\n\r\nAs for what's next, we'll be incorporating these sensory tools into upcoming social-emotional lessons. Students will learn to identify which tools help them regulate, how to use them independently, and how to communicate their needs to others. These skills will support them far beyond our classroom—into other school environments and everyday life.\r\n\r\nYour generosity hasn't just provided materials; it has opened the door to greater confidence, independence, and emotional growth for each of my students. Thank you for making such a powerful difference in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1746586761980,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-magic-calming-tools-for-bright/9315200/","projectTitle":"Sensory Magic: Calming Tools for Bright Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Jeffrey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6456157_orig.jpg?crop=2094,2094,x0,y48&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1688676033440","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6456157"},{"teacherId":10097391,"projectId":9507875,"letterContent":"Thanks to the generous support from our donors, our classroom has become a more nurturing and engaging space for all students. The treasure chest incentive has been a huge success, students look forward to earning a reward at the end of each day, which motivates them to stay focused, make positive choices, and work hard. This daily routine has helped build self-regulation and a sense of accomplishment. The timers have also become essential tools, supporting smooth transitions, task completion, and emotional coping strategies throughout the day.\r\nFor students with sensory needs, the weighted blankets and stuffed animals have made a remarkable difference. During circle time or moments of overstimulation, these items provide comfort and help students self-regulate, allowing them to stay focused and participate more fully. \r\nTogether, these resources have created a more inclusive environment where every child feels supported. We're now building on this foundation with all the manipulatives for learning, laminated activities that are reusable, and a classroom with more resources for everyday use.","fullyFundedDate":1754177225911,"projectUrl":"project/supportive-spaces/9507875/","projectTitle":"Supportive Spaces","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Carrasco","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10097391_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753771511909","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10097391"},{"teacherId":10054079,"projectId":9407770,"letterContent":"Thank you all for your generous donations over the last few months! It's become a go-to engagement tool that keeps learning exciting and interactive.\r\n\r\nYou would've thought it was a game show premiere! The kids were thrilled. While many people are familiar with sensory items like putty or kinetic sand at home, they may not realize just how transformative these tools can be in a school setting. In our classroom, sensory materials act as an essential form of \"technology\"—tools that help students regulate their emotions, manage sensory input, and stay engaged in learning. They're just as important to our students' success as tablets or computers are in other classrooms.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for my students has been having sensory options that truly meet their individual needs. Many of them light up when they get to choose a calming tool that helps them focus, whether it's running their fingers through soft sand, stretching putty to release anxiety, or using textured items to stay grounded during lessons. These tools give them a sense of control over their bodies and their learning environment, which is incredibly empowering.\r\n\r\nSeveral students, in particular, have shown remarkable growth since we introduced these new resources. One student who often struggled to start assignments now uses sensory putty as part of his routine, and it helps him transition into work with more confidence and fewer frustrations. Another student who is easily overwhelmed by noise has found comfort in using our tactile sensory items, allowing her to stay in the classroom longer and participate more fully with her peers. These may seem like small moments, but in our classroom, they are big wins—moments of progress, pride, and independence.","fullyFundedDate":1744727938346,"projectUrl":"project/creating-sensory-friendly-experiences-fo/9218061/","projectTitle":"Creating Sensory-Friendly Experiences for All Students!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Jeffrey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6456157_orig.jpg?crop=2094,2094,x0,y48&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1688676033440","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6456157"},{"teacherId":9362328,"projectId":8991010,"letterContent":"When I received the notification that this project was fully funded by two donors, I was beyond thrilled!
