My students have enjoyed the delicious snacks and have been able to be rewarded for working hard. Using the pre-mack principle for our students works great to incentivize students who might find other activities less engaging. Many students choose to be rewarded by edibles rather than activities or sensory items so the ability to replenish our snack options has been an amazing support. \r\nBeing a title 1 school, my students come from different economic backgrounds but most come from families just getting by. I myself was once a student in this district and know what it's like to depend on school provided meals to provide a bulk of our school day nutrition. Having snacks in our classroom has always been a necessity but unfortunately been something mostly funded by myself. Some parents provide donations when they can but the financial burden has mostly fallen on myself and my staff. Donations like yours help offset that cost so that we may continue buying other resources with our own funds. Thank you for seeing our class needs and putting all students first.","fullyFundedDate":1766067741087,"projectUrl":"project/fuel-for-learning-snacks-for-my-student/9767446/","projectTitle":"Fuel for Learning: Snacks for My Students with Autism","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Vince","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9119017_orig.png?crop=410,410,x0,y41&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1690430458069","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9119017"},{"teacherId":5792610,"projectId":9466828,"letterContent":"Our students have been excitedly exploring the new parachute, hula hoops, jump ropes, and stretchy bands generously provided by our donors. These materials have brought fresh energy into our music classes, especially as students experienced selections from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker ballet. Through movement activities and rhythm-based games, students used the new equipment to feel the beat, respond to musical cues, and collaborate with classmates in creative, joyful ways.\r\n\r\nThe impact was immediate, students were thrilled the moment they saw the new resources and eager to engage with them. The tools have helped elevate our lessons by making abstract musical concepts more tangible and interactive, supporting both musical understanding and physical coordination.\r\n\r\nOur next steps include taking these activities outdoors to give students more space to explore movement connected to music. These outdoor lessons will help prepare students for our upcoming spring performances, where they'll apply what they've learned in a dynamic and engaging way for our school community.","fullyFundedDate":1760546398955,"projectUrl":"project/movement-for-music/9466828/","projectTitle":"Movement for Music!","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Bogan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5792610_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1726031136853","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5792610"},{"teacherId":8244849,"projectId":8702331,"letterContent":"The new books introduced my students to important skills such as identifying themes, analyzing characters, and making real-world connections to what they read. Through these texts, they practiced comprehension strategies, built vocabulary, and learned how to think critically about stories while still enjoying the magic of reading.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading looks like engagement, curiosity, and discussion. Students are not only reading silently but also sharing their thoughts in small groups, writing reflections, and asking meaningful questions about the text. Several students who previously struggled to stay interested in reading now eagerly raise their hands to participate. One student, in particular, who once said she \"didn't like books,\" now proudly carries one of our new texts with her every day, excited to talk about what she has discovered. Because of your donations, we now have the essential materials—copy paper, laminate, Velcro, and cardstock—that allow us to create the individualized learning tools our students rely on every day.
