However, Kindergarten's curricular demands are so much more rigorous than before and we forget about the exploration and discovery period that students need. Music is a great way to learn and solidify information/concepts in our young learners brains, it boost cognitive skills, patterns, language, coordination, and rhythm. So we promote songs and music in our daily learning. Now with our new instruments we are able to put motion, kinesthetic response, and movement into our learning. \r\n Our instruments arrived and the students have received them with such joy and curiosity. They beg to use them every day and after every activity. We began to make songs for concepts that we are learning and they want to put music to their songs. Students work in groups with each child having an instrument to compose a song and then they \"perform\" their song using rhythm, language, and their knowledge of a new concept. \r\n Now with the Holidays fast approaching we will be using our instruments to play and sing our favorite holiday songs. Our instruments have brought such joy and \"fun\" to our daily learning.
