Many days, youth have wanted to stay after school just for a chance to color in one of the 3 coloring books or to do diamond art. I recall one youth sharing that the diamond art in particular helps her to \"clear her mind and focus on just this.\" Even the most serious students wind up fidgeting with the Etch-a-Sketch or hugging our weighted cat plushie, grounding themselves naturally thanks to the environment you've helped me provide. \r\n\r\nBecause of these materials, students are eager to come into the room and have something to look forward to. The desk mirror has opened up restorative conversations about self-worth and respect; sometimes letting a student borrow the mirror opens a door to positive interactions overall! The disinfecting wipes have gotten us through cold & flu season without too much trouble as we share these materials, which we are extremely thankful for.
