Because of you, my classroom is now filled with books that students genuinely wanted to read—and that has made all the difference.\r\n\r\nThese new books are doing far more than filling our shelves. They are helping students build essential reading skills such as comprehension, vocabulary development, inference, and stamina. Many of the texts also introduce students to themes like identity, resilience, friendship, and choice—topics that spark meaningful conversations and help students connect what they read to their own lives. When students see themselves reflected in books, or are exposed to perspectives different from their own, reading becomes more powerful and purposeful.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is now active, joyful, and student-centered. Students have daily opportunities to choose their own books, read independently, discuss stories with peers, and respond through writing, conversation, and reflection. Instead of asking, \"Do we have to read?\" I now hear, \"Can I keep reading?\" or \"Can I take this book home?\" That shift alone is priceless.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who previously struggled to stay engaged during reading time are now some of the most enthusiastic readers in the room. One student proudly told me it was the first book they've ever finished on their own. Another student rushes into class each day eager to update me on what happened in the next chapter. These moments may seem small, but they represent growing confidence, motivation, and a developing love of reading—things that will stay with them far beyond this school year.\r\n\r\nYour support has helped create a classroom where reading feels welcoming, exciting, and accessible to all students. You didn't just donate books—you helped spark curiosity, confidence, and a sense of belonging. From the bottom of my heart (and on behalf of my students), thank you for making that possible.","fullyFundedDate":1761839697396,"projectUrl":"project/books-that-bring-us-together-class-sets/9714860/","projectTitle":"Books That Bring Us Together: Class Sets for Curious Readers","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Coryell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10037512_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y1008&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1758156694571","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10037512"},{"teacherId":6452347,"projectId":9518729,"letterContent":"Thank you for your investments in our students' learning.
