And the generosity of so many supplies allows for all kids to feel like they have literal tools at their disposal, and no issues of inequity.\r\n\r\nThese resources are also plentiful and will continue to be used throughout the rest of the school year.","fullyFundedDate":1756125055852,"projectUrl":"project/express-yourself-creative-classroom-to/9577158/","projectTitle":"Express Yourself - Creative Classroom Tools","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. G","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9635818_orig.jpg?crop=3022,3022,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723082393455","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9635818"},{"teacherId":9635818,"projectId":9728903,"letterContent":"How fortunate am I for my students' future?! You helped provide meaningful context for my students as we engage in the novel unit, Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451. \r\nThey can to have the experience of individual books to hold, read, and annotate inside.\r\n \r\nIn my classroom, reading looks like this: a designated reader takes turns reading different chapters out loud, and we listen together. Students then stop to annotate their thoughts, identify motifs, and interpret character actions. The writing in the book provides such tangible synthesis of understanding the text!\r\n\r\nWhen I think of developing skills, the effect of each student getting their own book to keep is far-reaching; it opens their mind up to interpretations and connections. As their teacher, it's my job to help kids decipher big ideas throughout the story. And I know their educational journey will be enhanced by your generosity.\r\n\r\nIn school, it is so rare to get to write inside and keep a novel! But as Bradbury writes in the text: \"He was moving from an unreality that was frightening into a reality that was unreal because it was new.\" This is new, and appreciative, and wonderfully impactful.","fullyFundedDate":1758757103780,"projectUrl":"project/help-spark-my-students-reading-interest/9728903/","projectTitle":"Help Spark My Students' Reading Interest!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. G","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9635818_orig.jpg?crop=3022,3022,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723082393455","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9635818"},{"teacherId":2525777,"projectId":9732760,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donations to my project. With your donations we were able to provide each student in 8th grade with their own copy of Fahrenheit 451 to annotate as they read along. We were able to use the racquet balls to create an advisory activity that encourages and promotes teamwork and growth mindset activities. The new notebooks were helpful for us to help students who didn't have their own supplies. Being able to provide them with school supplies without having to use our own money was a game changer.\r\n\r\nWe really appreciate the assistance to us and our students.","fullyFundedDate":1764598441935,"projectUrl":"project/integrated-learning-for-8th-graders/9732760/","projectTitle":"Integrated Learning for 8th graders","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rahimian","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2525777_orig.jpg?crop=480,480,x0,y30&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756336552388","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2525777"},{"teacherId":10269335,"projectId":9729077,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for helping us with our stop motion project. In my 7th-grade creative arts class, the stop-motion project using green screens and lights was a huge hit. It gave students a hands-on way to dive into storytelling, using technology to create their own worlds and characters. What's exciting about the technology is how it opened up a new creative space for students to explore. They got to experiment with lighting, angles, and special effects—tools that they might see in movies but often don't get to try for themselves. It allowed them to be more than just learners; they were creators, making their own mini-films from start to finish.\r\nThe students were especially excited by how they could bring their ideas to life in a way that felt personal and real. Seeing their own work on screen was motivating, and the creative process kept them engaged from start to finish. For some students, this was the first time they felt truly empowered in a project. Whether it was figuring out how to get the right lighting or collaborating with classmates, the experience encouraged them to think critically and work together.\r\nAs for the students who warmed to the technology the most, I noticed that those who often shy away from traditional projects really thrived in this one. The hands-on nature of the project gave them a way to showcase their creativity in a less structured environment, which seemed to boost their confidence and excitement for learning. For these students, it wasn't just about the final product, it was about the journey of making something they could be proud of.","fullyFundedDate":1758757097746,"projectUrl":"project/lights-camera-learn/9729077/","projectTitle":"Lights, Camera, Learn!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Keith Harris","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10269335_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1758644528879","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10269335"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_102214","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":520,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":76,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":8,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":67,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"5 - 6","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":83.6,"schoolId":102214,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Larchmont Charter School - Selma on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Larchmont Charter School - Selma","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/los-angeles-unified-school-district/larchmont-charter-school-west-hollywood-2/102214"}
