I am so thrilled to share just how impactful your donation was to my 6th grade classroom. Because of your kindness, I was able to purchase a variety of hands-on, engaging resources—like geodes and DIY lava lamp kits—that truly transformed the learning experience for my students.\r\n\r\nThis past year has been full of challenges, hard work, and growth. My students have consistently shown resilience, determination, and curiosity, and I wanted to find a way to celebrate their efforts with learning activities that were both fun and educational. Thanks to your donation, I was able to do exactly that.\r\n\r\nThe geodes were a particular highlight. When the students were told they'd be cracking open real rocks to find crystals inside, their eyes lit up with excitement. The activity not only tied directly into our Earth Science unit on rocks and minerals but also gave students a sense of wonder and discovery that can't be replicated through textbooks alone. They made predictions, observed properties, and used scientific tools—all while smiling and sharing their findings with each other. It was truly magical to watch their enthusiasm unfold in real time.\r\n\r\nAnother standout was the DIY lava lamp kits. These were a hit across the board! Students explored the science behind chemical reactions and density by creating their own colorful lava lamps. It was an excellent introduction to scientific inquiry and experimentation. Beyond the academic benefit, it was a moment of joy, creativity, and collaboration. The students were fully engaged, asking thoughtful questions and eagerly explaining their results to one another.\r\n\r\nWhat made these experiences even more meaningful was the way they brought our classroom community closer. The students worked together, encouraged each other, and celebrated their discoveries as a team. Many of them told me these were some of the most memorable activities they had ever done in school. And for me, as their teacher, seeing them so engaged, so inspired, and so proud of themselves was a reminder of why I do this work—and why donors like you are so important.\r\n\r\nAfter a full year of hard work, dedication, and navigating the challenges of growing up, my students deserved something special. They deserved moments of hands-on learning that made science come alive. They deserved opportunities to explore, question, create, and have fun. Because of you, they got all of that and more.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in the power of education and for investing in my students. Your support helped create unforgettable moments of learning and joy that they will carry with them for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1683824753454,"projectUrl":"project/end-of-the-year-fun/7341573/","projectTitle":"End-of-the-Year Fun!","teacherDisplayName":"Coach W.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4399660_orig.png?crop=200,200,x30,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753732593137","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4399660"},{"teacherId":4352042,"projectId":8960548,"letterContent":"The students have truly enjoyed using the puppets and felt story boards.
