When the students saw the boxes of kits, it was so heartwarming seeing their faces of joy as if they were opening up their Christmas presents on Christmas Day. As soon as the kits arrived, I opened one and noticed that it was going to be a lot of work assembling them all by myself since I had to punch out all the magnets. It was almost an impossible task! But one student asked me if she can help me and of course I took her offer. Once she started, the whole class wanted to help and because of this teamwork, we managed to assemble all 25 kits in less than an hour!\r\nOur students have made tremendous growth just in these few weeks that we received our phonics kits. Since this kit is hands on, the students are not only engaged in spelling their words but are going deeper in understanding the phonics rules and applying it to their reading and writing. I am in awe of how quickly they are catching on and I have seen tremendous growth in even their overall reading and writing levels. Since we use these kits weekly, they are able to review skills and build on new concepts each week. I even see more collaboration and leadership in the students wanting to help each other and reminding each other of the phonics skills they have learned to build words.\r\nI am so excited to share that these kits will impact my students this current school year and the years to come. They quickly walk to our bulletin board, check for their numbers, and then switch out their regular student chairs for the wobble chairs.\r\n Before students were able to \"Get Their Wobble On,\" we created class rules to keep them in good condition, as well as to keep the students safe. Students are able to move, engage their core muscles, improve posture, reduce strain on the back and neck, and increase focus as they get their \"wobble on.\" I attribute the students alertness and focus in class to these stools. You cannot imagine how these stools are contributing to students' productivity. \r\n My heart is filled with gratitude every morning that I change students to their flex seating/wobble stools for the day, knowing that his would not be possible without our generous donors. Please know that you have made a difference in our 4th grade classroom, and we are forever thankful.
