Many students kept asking if they were really going to get to keep the book they chose forever. The smiles and gratitude the students showed as they walked through the book selections picking up each book that interested them before settling on the one that they would take home were a wonderful sight. \r\nAs I walked through classrooms later in the day, students were excited to tell me what book they chose and how they had already started reading it or couldn't put it down. Many told me they would be finishing the book over break and swapping with a friend so that everyone they knew would be able to experience the story that was their very own. We have had students swapping books and they are excited when they find out that there are even more books of many of the series options that are in the school library so they can continue on their reading journey.\r\nStudents have given me so many hugs and thank you's for being able to bring this project to life and I can not thank our donors enough for helping to bring that joy and the love of literacy to the school. Many children have even reported that they are reading to their younger siblings and parents have expressed that they have never seen their child so enthusiastic to read a book. Thank you for your donation and for sparking literacy in these students.
