Your donation brought vibrant watercolor paints, tempera paints, and high-quality watercolor paper into our kindergarten classroom—and the difference they have made is truly remarkable. These materials are helping my students grow not only as young artists, but also as thinkers, problem-solvers, and communicators. I am incredibly grateful that you chose to invest in their creativity and development.\r\n\r\n The paints and watercolor paper have opened up countless opportunities for students to experiment with blending colors, layering washes, and using different brushstrokes to express ideas. We also use the new supplies to support fine motor development. Many of my students are still building hand strength and control, and using brushes allows them to practice gentle wrist movements, pressure regulation, and intentional strokes. \r\n\r\nOne of the most memorable projects we completed with these new materials was our holiday ornament design activity. This project became an instant favorite. Students used the watercolor paints to design their own ornament artwork on round, high-quality watercolor paper. The introduction of the paints and watercolor paper was unforgettable. The moment I pulled out the trays of new supplies, the energy in the room shifted. Several students gasped, and one whispered, \"Real artist paper?\"—a sign of how special these materials felt to them.\r\n\r\nOur upcoming project is a thematic Four Seasons exploration, which will allow students to use paint to express their understanding of the world around them. \r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in my students and investing in their growth. We use these books daily during our literacy centers and small group reading sessions. One of the most exciting moments so far was our \"Reading Buddies\" day, where students paired up and took turns reading simple CVC words and word families from the new books. Seeing their confidence grow as they decoded words and made connections between letters and sounds was incredibly rewarding. These resources have supported our phonics instruction in a hands-on and joyful way.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new books, their faces lit up with curiosity and excitement. They eagerly flipped through the pages, pointing out familiar letters and pictures. For many, it was the first time they felt like real readers. One student exclaimed, \"I can read this all by myself!\" and proudly read the book cover to cover. That spark—of feeling successful and independent—has motivated so many of them to keep trying, even when reading feels tough.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are working on a project called \"All About Me,\" where each student will write and illustrate their own phonic-based story using the word families we've practiced with your donated books. These stories will become part of our classroom library, and the students are so proud to become both readers and authors.
