Because of you, my kindergarteners got to take part in an exciting hands-on science inquiry that helped them explore big ideas in a fun and meaningful way.\r\n\r\nOur question was: \"How can I get my paper rocket into space?\" From the moment we started, the students were hooked. They carefully designed and decorated their own paper rockets, then we began experimenting with how to launch them. Using the materials you provided, we built balloon rockets and explored different ways to get our rockets to \"blast off.\"\r\n\r\nThrough this project, we learned about pushes and pulls, and how different forces—like air being released, gravity, wind, and even helium—might help or stop a rocket from reaching space. The balloon rockets brought these ideas to life! There were so many joyful moments: giggles during the first launch, wide eyes as rockets zipped across the room, and thoughtful questions like, \"Would more air make it go farther?\" and \"Can we use a fan next time for more wind?\"\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite parts was hearing students excitedly explain what they noticed:\r\n\r\n\"It went fast because the air pushed it!\"\r\n\r\n\"Gravity is pulling it down!\"\r\n\r\n\"Let's try a bigger balloon!\"\r\n\r\nThe inquiry really stuck with them—so much so that they keep asking when we get to do it again.
