We team up to play review games - if you get the answer right, you can shoot. On behalf of my students and myself, I want to express our deepest gratitude for your generous support of our classroom project through Donors Choose. Thanks to your donation, our classroom has been transformed with the new resources, and the impact has been immediate.\r\n\r\nWe've already started using the resources in our daily lessons. For example, the posters have helped both my French and Spanish students as we learned regular verb conjugations. The posters are at the front of the room and many students found the visual aids to be useful, especially a student who was gone all week due to an illness and she caught up more quickly due to the visual aids.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, we asked for kleenex and wipes to help keep our classmates and selves healthier. Normally, we have to buy those supplies out of our limited budget or with personal money. We can't have a classroom without them and with your donation, I am able to use our budget for other school-approved items while keeping us healthy at the same time. \r\n\r\nYour generosity has made such a lasting impact on our classroom. The new readers purchased for my library have made a huge difference in the interest level of my students on free reading days. These books are engaging, relevant and timely. Students have found that following a story makes them look forward to reading Mondays because they anticipate what happens next in the story. These readers will carry on in my classroom for years to come.\r\n I also appreciate the Spanish to English dictionaries that were purchased. Each pod of students has access to two dictionaries. Students are learning how to use these instead of depending on Google translate to get them through a sentence. I am so happy to have these because it provides a way to look up words instead of having Google translate entire ideas and then the student hasn't really learned. These will be used for years!\r\n I am full of gratitude for the technology purchases. I now have a sound bar, extra computer charges and ports to allow full tech access for students. The laser pointer and clicker make presentations more engaging and seamless for myself and students. These items are priceless! \r\n Thank you for the positive encouragement posters in Spanish. These are great sayings that lift up students!","fullyFundedDate":1727462996697,"projectUrl":"project/second-language-literacy-and-acquisition/8575858/","projectTitle":"Second Language Literacy and Acquisition","teacherDisplayName":"Sra. The new materials have brought new opportunities for creativity and collaboration in our classroom. It has been fun coming up with ways to use the large whiteboards and colorful Expo markers. My students enjoy gathering around a board with an assortment of markers and having a blank canvas to synthesize their learning through words, images, or whatever combination makes sense to them. We also have the small whiteboards for individual practice of new concepts, which keeps our classroom lively, interactive, and full of feedback for student learning.\r\n\r\nThe simplest part of our request--thousands of blank index cards--has also had a big impact. Students know that they can pick up index cards at any time, to make their vocab flashcards or anything else where old-school methods are meaningful and beneficial for their learning. It's been a great shift to provide this resource to students, instead of expecting them to purchase it on their own, as it sends the message that everyone belongs, everyone has access, and we're all in this together.
