I can't wait to see their faces and get to explore the amazing hands on learning in Science.\r\n\r\nThe Lego set is amazing. They absolutely love it. The students were jumping up and down when I introduced it during our exploration time. I loved the connection of building between my students as they read the directions and then built the amusement park. Often times, it's the little things that are difficult to obtain or purchase for a classroom because limited budgets are utilized for important items like instruments! Donors Choose has helped fill in those gaps for our classroom. In order to address the needs of all students, sometimes we need projects where we compose, write, play, discover and learn about music in different ways. We need things like book bins and storage caddies so students can do different \"stations\" when we have small groups. The storage caddies have come in very handy for when students are working on written compositions, theory review and song-writing.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, we don't have traditional desks and chairs. Students have a spot on our rainbow carpet, and we move around constantly getting out instruments, dancing, moving to the white board, etc. For times when we need seating, the wobble chairs come in so handy. Students use them to sit on when they need better support for playing ukulele or when they just need to get some extra wiggles out. They can also be stored away when not in use. Our parachute is used with the younger grades to listen to form in music (and how exciting are parachutes anyway?!). This is always a hit with younger students and I am grateful to have my own parachute for the music room.\r\nFinally, fun instruments like a train whistle and a soprano glockenspiel add great musical color and effects for our collective pieces. \r\n\r\nThank you again for keeping us in mind and for your kindness.","fullyFundedDate":1659317643291,"projectUrl":"project/music-instruments-and-more/6581044/","projectTitle":"Music Instruments and More","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Richardson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7790398_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1628696544559","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/musicroom"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_41323","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":355,"numTeachers":25,"percentFrplEligible":13,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":79,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":8,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":81.3,"schoolId":41323,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Greenwood Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Greenwood Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/cherry-creek-school-district-5/greenwood-elementary-school/41323"}
