Your kindness makes a meaningful difference in our classroom every day.\r\n\r\nWe are using the Expo markers to bring lessons to life in both art and 5th grade math, while the erasable pens help us provide clear, helpful feedback on student work. The permanent markers are already inspiring creativity in our art projects, and the erasers are helping us restock our art supply caddies so students always have what they need.\r\n\r\nThe tissue paper has been especially exciting for our younger students, who are using it in a variety of creative projects across grades K–5. Your generosity is helping spark creativity, support learning, and keep our classroom well-equipped—thank you for being a part of that.","fullyFundedDate":1769651359285,"projectUrl":"project/class-refresh/10055144/","projectTitle":"Class Refresh!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Becker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9637281_orig.jpg?crop=481,481,x0,y99&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1731343917242","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/art-mrsbecker"},{"teacherId":9637281,"projectId":9868641,"letterContent":"Thanks to the new glue and watercolor resources, my students have been able to bring their ideas to life in ways that weren't possible before. We've been using the glue for mixed-media art projects, combining watercolor painting with collage elements to create textured landscapes inspired by stories we've read in class. One memorable moment was watching a student carefully glue fabric shapes onto their watercolor background and proudly explain how each piece represented a part of their story—art and literacy coming together beautifully.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate and contagious. They gathered around the table wide-eyed, eager to touch the watercolor sets and ask when they could start painting. Many of them had never used watercolors or proper art glue before, and their reactions ranged from quiet awe to joyful exclamations. The materials instantly sparked curiosity, creativity, and a sense that their work mattered.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our students are currently working on watercolor illustrations focusing on color choice and detail to express mood and meaning. Your support has given students not only the tools to create, but also the confidence to explore, experiment, and take pride in their learning. Thank you for giving our classroom this opportunity to grow and create together.","fullyFundedDate":1762105433449,"projectUrl":"project/restock-and-refill-our-basic-art-supplie/9868641/","projectTitle":"Restock and Refill our Basic Art Supplies!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Becker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9637281_orig.jpg?crop=481,481,x0,y99&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1731343917242","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/art-mrsbecker"},{"teacherId":9637281,"projectId":9191866,"letterContent":"The art show was, in a nutshell, amazing. The students were blown away by how everything came together. We started working on the art in March and the students worked so hard to get it done on time. Some of these projects were much harder than their level of knowledge, but they knocked it out of the park. Kindergartenmade coral sculptures, first grade made a newspaper stuffed watercolor fish, second grade made an underwater scene, third grade made a Sandcastle sculpture, fourth and fifthgrade made sea creature sculptures. \r\nEverything had Secret glow-in-the-dark paint, and the kids knew this, but weren't sure why we were adding it.\r\nWhen the kids arrived, they were greeted at the door under a grotto sculpture that was life-size. They picked up a scavenger hunt map, which would ensure they checked out every exhibit. They also picked up a UV flashlight that would be interactive with every single exhibit.\r\nAt the end, they would turn in their flashlight and be able to fish for treasure. We heard so many great comments and feedback from this art show that it was amazing. We were also able to raise about $600 just from donated items in a raffle. This money would be used for our general fund at the school. \r\nThis was one of the most exciting and fun things the school has ever done and we hope to continue this year after year. It would only have been possible with your generosity and support and it is appreciated from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you so much.","fullyFundedDate":1743108309793,"projectUrl":"project/amazing-interactive-under-the-sea-art/9191866/","projectTitle":"Amazing Interactive \"Under The Sea\" Art Show!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Becker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9637281_orig.jpg?crop=481,481,x0,y99&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1731343917242","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/art-mrsbecker"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_105265","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":62,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":44,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":35,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":70.6,"schoolId":105265,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about James Irwin Charter Academy - Howard Campus on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"James Irwin Charter Academy - Howard Campus","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/colorado-springs-school-district-11/james-irwin-charter-academy/105265"}
