I work with small groups of students who often find it hard to talk and converse in a natural way. By incorporating art/coloring/card making and conversation-starting cards, I have found that students engage much more easily than if they just had one part of this - like only art or only the conversation cards. \r\n\r\nThe students LOVE the alcohol markers because they are so vibrant! The were so excited to use them. The conversation cards have been a great help to me as the teacher, as they ask interesting, yet non-threatening questions to help get the students talking. Especially after COVID, and how students and people in general revert to being on their phones instead of with the people, these have really helped break down barriers. \r\n\r\nAnd, with the students being involved in coloring or creating, they are focused on that, and the conversations have been more fluid and natural, giving them the lifelong skill of talking to other people!
