Your support is making a tangible difference in the mental health and academic success of the students I work with. When they are regulated, they are better able to access the curriculum in the classroom which teachers and parents appreciate. \r\n\r\nAs a school psychologist, I help elementary students develop social-emotional and growth mindset skills that will empower them in the classroom and beyond. With the addition of these new books and materials, I now have even more engaging ways to teach critical lessons about perseverance, empathy, and self-awareness. These stories help students see themselves in new ways, understand the experiences of others, and build a lifelong love of learning.\r\n\r\n Through more varied activities, we discuss themes of overcoming challenges, handling emotions, coping skills, being okay with not being okay sometimes and fostering a growth mindset. These discussions allow students to make connections between the characters in the books and their own lives, helping them apply these lessons in real-world situations.\r\n\r\nI have already noticed how excited students are to dive into these new books as many of them have been learning the same mental health curriculum for years. One particular student, who often struggles with emotions, has been especially drawn to the new Growth Mindset curriculums and picture books we received. It has sparked new conversations and perspectives about resilience and determination. Watching these connections unfold is truly inspiring.\r\n\r\nYour kindness inspires me and the students I serve every day. On behalf of all of us, thank you for your generosity and belief in the power of education and mental health support.","fullyFundedDate":1733273590546,"projectUrl":"project/transfering-growth-mindset-to-the-classr/8560503/","projectTitle":"Transfering growth mindset to the classroom.","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Karcher","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9629046"},{"teacherId":9242453,"projectId":8575319,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the multi-sensory literacy materials for the students in the Reading Room. The new resources have truly transformed our classroom experience, allowing both my students and me to engage more deeply in our lessons. We recently used these materials for a hands-on engaging game using the phonics skills we have been working on. These resources have made learning engaging and inspired creativity, which is invaluable!\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students were overjoyed. Their excitement was palpable—they were so excited to help me get the multi-sensory tubs organized. They ask to use them often! Moving forward, we plan to use these muti-sensory tubs each time we learn a new phonics concept. We also plan to use the games regularly to review and reinforce recently learned skills. It's a chance for students to apply their skills while playing an engaging game.
