For this project, I ordered a small couch that one or two students could sit on at a time. They love sitting on the couch to read their books during our literacy centers. They also love using the couch to build forts during Choice time or to hang out on when they have down time. I wanted to create a classroom library that would entice students to read and it has done just that! As a kindergarten teacher, I hope to inspire my students to become life-long readers and to read for pleasure and enjoyment. I really appreciate you funding this project because it has made an impact on students' love of reading.","fullyFundedDate":1723161167606,"projectUrl":"project/getting-cozy-in-the-classroom-library/8569036/","projectTitle":"Getting Cozy in the Classroom Library","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Dana","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9630924"},{"teacherId":9630924,"projectId":8635095,"letterContent":"For this project, I ordered several important and necessary for my classroom. One large item that your money paid for was a desk at the front of the room that is big enough for my computer and projector. This item is essential to my classroom because I project math and many other lessons from my computer and I use the document camera to model writing or new activities. Last year I had to use a student desk which was too small and made it difficult to teach. My new desk has enough space for everything I need to do to teach. I was also able to order a white board for my small group reading area. I use this white board every day to teach phonics skills. \r\n\r\nIn addition, I was able to purchase balance birds, fabric markers, and modeling clay for the kids to play with. Many children love to use the balance birds during rest time and choice time. The fabric markers and modeling clay have been fun additions to our choice time activities. Each kid is decorating their own bandana with the fabric markers to use for imaginative play. \r\n\r\nMy 13 students and I very much appreciate these items. They have enhanced the learning environment in many ways.
