The moment the lab coats arrived, my students lit up—several of them slipped them on immediately and began practicing \"proper scientist posture.\" During our first official use, a chemistry investigation on reaction rates, students treated the experience as if they were in a real research lab. One group even referred to their workspace as their \"station,\" proudly noting that they finally felt like authentic scientists rather than just students completing an assignment.\r\n\r\nThese lab coats have already elevated the quality of our classroom projects. In a recent biology experiment on bacterial growth, students took extra care with safety procedures and showed greater ownership of their work. Many mentioned that the coats made the lab feel more serious, more exciting, and more meaningful—one student told me, \"I feel like I'm doing something important.\" That shift in mindset has had a remarkable effect on their engagement and precision.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the semester, these lab coats will support students in a series of upcoming investigations, including a water-quality analysis project and our annual STEM showcase where students present original experiments. Your contributions didn't just supply a classroom item—they helped create an environment where students see themselves as capable scientists.
