We've been using them often, and they've quickly become an important part of how we start and end our day. One of the tools we've implemented is a daily feelings check-in, which gives students a simple but effective way to name their emotions and reflect on how they're doing. It's helped students feel more grounded and ready to learn, and it's opened up some meaningful conversations that weren't happening before.\r\n\r\n\r\nCurrently, we're working on implementing a SEL center during our literacy centers when students can work on emotional regulation and naming feelings. Next, we'll be connecting these skills to group work in academic settings — helping students apply SEL strategies when collaborating on assignments and managing classroom responsibilities. They were so excited to walk into the classroom. They adore the rug and they help to keep it clean. They take pride in the space they are learning. Our story time became an amazing and fun learning time. It boosted student's self-awareness and allowed them to manage their own emotions and helped them build meaningful relationships with others. Our classroom feels like a true community now where we help each other solve problems and be empathetic to others that might be having a rough time. \r\nWe were also able to use the \"Cuaderno de Escritura\" to teach proper letter formation. Your donation allowed us to purchase a book for every student in the class, minimizing the need to make copies. Students were overjoyed to receive a workbook in which they could practice all the letters we study. They take pride on making sure that their workbook is neat and clean.
