We started a new curriculum that has really great investigations but our school just didn't have the materials we needed daily. With all these new materials we are able to extend their learning daily. The HWT materials are great for teaching how to form letters as we learn to write and it teaches the class how to draw themselves by breaking it down to lines and shapes. The felt board stories have assisted the class with retelling skills and counting skills when we sing songs. \r\nThe three different math materials have been amazing for small group instruction. They are all learning how to sort not only by color but by shape, size, and other characteristics. \r\nThe class will learn so much when we get out the window composter. They are already very excited about our school garden and it is only December! They found bean seeds in the garden this fall that we want to plant this spring. The composter will help prepare our garden for this spring and help the children learn more about what plants need to grow. \r\n\r\nThank you again for helping these small learners grow and explore the world around them. There are several items that have truly helped me with teaching the students and allowing them to learn. One of these items is the headphones that we were supplied. Many of the students do not have them, and by allowing the students to have pairs of headphones to work on their literacy activities as well as my students that depend on text to speech for their learning needs. \r\n\r\nThe students have also enjoyed being able to use the construction paper they were supplied to make science projects related to their unit on the food chain, predators and prey. They are always looking for opportunities to do hands on activities, and this along with the glue sticks we received allowed for this to be more learning beyond the computers.\r\n\r\nYour kindness and opportunities for supplies to be received were very much appreciated.
