This middle school centered book is great for my 6th graders. The love the relatable content and funny storyline. \r\n\r\nMy students are able to work in student lit groups and share ideas and excitement over the common story. It makes me happy to see kids reading. I still find that even at the 6th grade level kids love to be read too. I start off the novel by reading the first chapter to the kids. Then we use a mixture of read aloud, silent reading and reading in small groups to make is accessible to all learners. \r\n\r\nThroughout the story students answer questions working on their writing skills as well create projects and drawings to represent their learning. I have even after finishing the book club style unit had kids ask about the next book in the series. So I have been able to lend out the copies of that and encourage students to keep reading. I have also read the follow up novels as to spark conversations and excitement.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this project possible. I love my kids are reading real paper books and to see them excited about reading has been amazing.","fullyFundedDate":1731608351509,"projectUrl":"project/middle-school-is-the-worst-read-aloud/8498646/","projectTitle":"Middle School Is the WORST Read Aloud","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Jagielski","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5155212_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1517618886481","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5155212"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_43887","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":448,"numTeachers":44,"percentFrplEligible":27,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":70,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":13,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"10.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":63.3,"schoolId":43887,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Cromwell Middle School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Cromwell Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/connecticut/cromwell-public-schools/cromwell-middle-school/43887"}
