My students are thriving in a space where they have the freedom to choose seating that best supports their learning. \r\n\r\nFrom the moment they walked in and saw the new stools and chair bands, their excitement was contagious. One student excitedly said, \"Now I can move and still do my work!\" Another immediately tested the chair band, happily bouncing their feet while focusing on their assignment. \r\n\r\nWe recently used our new seating during a small-group reading lesson. Students who once struggled to stay engaged were now focused, gently bouncing their feet on the chair bands while following along. The stools have also made group work more effective, allowing students to easily move and collaborate without being stuck in rigid seating. One student who often felt restless found that using a chair band helped them stay engaged without disrupting the lesson. \r\n\r\nAs we continue to use these resources, the next step is integrating more student choice into our learning. I plan to let students experiment with different seating options for various tasks, helping them recognize what works best for their learning style. We're also working on collaborative group projects where the stools allow for flexible seating arrangements, making teamwork more engaging and productive. \r\n\r\nYour support has made a lasting impact, and I can't wait to see how my students continue to grow in this new, student-centered learning environment!","fullyFundedDate":1730732133811,"projectUrl":"project/moving-around-with-flexible-seating/8690226/","projectTitle":"Moving Around With Flexible Seating","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Guerino","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9481079"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_43473","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":470,"numTeachers":40,"percentFrplEligible":51,"percentAsian":11,"percentBlack":8,"percentWhite":42,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":32,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":67.4,"schoolId":43473,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about McKinley Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"McKinley Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/connecticut/fairfield-public-schools/mckinley-elementary-school/43473"}
