Because of you, our learning environment has been transformed with materials that make a real difference in students' daily experiences. The new books are helping students build essential literacy skills such as close reading, identifying themes, and supporting their ideas with evidence. At the same time, the whiteboards allow students to practice skills in a low-pressure way, such as with brainstorming, drafting ideas, and sharing thinking quickly with peers. Even the basic supplies like pencils, pens, and paper ensure that every student is prepared and able to fully participate in each lesson without barriers.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom now feels more engaging, comfortable, and student-centered. The soft lighting from the lamp and light covers helps create a calm, welcoming atmosphere where students can focus and enjoy reading. The collections of books give students choice, which has been key in helping them find texts that interest them and keep them engaged. The anxiety tube has also been a meaningful addition, giving students a tool to self-regulate and stay focused, especially during independent reading and writing time. Altogether, these materials help create a classroom where students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nI have already seen students respond positively to these changes. Some who used to struggle with focus are now more settled and engaged, using the calming tools and environment to stay on task. Others are excited to explore the new books and are more eager to participate in discussions and share their ideas. It's been especially rewarding to see students take more ownership of their learning, whether they're jotting down ideas on whiteboards, diving into a new book, or simply feeling more comfortable in the space. Your support has truly made our classroom a better place to learn, and I am so grateful for the impact you've had on my students.","fullyFundedDate":1768069022545,"projectUrl":"project/from-pages-to-possibility/9950734/","projectTitle":"From Pages to Possibility","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. DeLucia","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10378709"},{"teacherId":10378240,"projectId":9952389,"letterContent":"On behalf of myself and my students, I am writing to express our thanks for your generous donation to our classroom. I am incredibly grateful to be able to have these supplies during my first year of teaching. Being able to provide items and engaging tools for my students has been very rewarding, and students have been very appreciative as well. I never expected to have this project funded just a short time after posting it, and I was so excited when I received the notification that it had been funded. I want you to know that your generous donation has positively impacted my students and our classroom.\r\n\r\nThe new calculators and whiteboard cloths have been so wonderful to have. I have calculators available for all students to use, and being able to replace some that had been broken and falling apart was appreciated not only by me but also by the students. Due to my initial order of calculators being out of stock, I had to modify the calculators I received, which allowed me to get a desk calculator for myself as well. It has been so great to have a larger calculator at my desk when helping students, planning lessons, and grading. The whiteboard cleaning cloths have been a hit in the classroom as well. When we do lessons that involve students using individual small whiteboards or when students prefer to write out work on a whiteboard, many students choose to use one of the clothes as they complete their work. Initially, I had planned to use them on the larger whiteboards around my room, but they did not work with that type of material, so I am glad they are now able to be used by individual students.\r\n\r\nThe multiplication practice tools have been such a favorite of my students. They have loved having the option to practice their multiplication facts in a different way than our typical fact practice on the computer. The math card game has been enjoyed by several students, and I was excited to be able to teach them how to play it. I had learned about this game when I was completing fieldwork in college, and immediately knew that I wanted to be able to have it in my future classroom. The game is designed to have students practice adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and critical thinking. I have been challenging my students to only use multiplication or division so they can continue to work on those specific facts. I am excited to be able to teach more students how to play and see their excitement as they have fun doing multiplication. I have not been able to debut the new multiplication bingo to my students, but based on other bingo games we have played, I know they are going to love it.\r\n\r\nThe multiplication puzzle has been a hit with so many of my students in all my classes. Students have been able to complete the puzzle for multiplication practice for months and they are still loving taking it out and completing it. There are students who frequently choose it as their practice format during our dedicated multiplication time but there are also students who will also ask to do it when they have finished classwork early. Unfortunately, I do not have a space to store the puzzle if it is not finished within the class period so sometimes it is not an option due to timing but this has also allowed a fun challenge for the students when they only have a certain amount of time to complete it. My favorite part has been seeing students who do not typically interact or work with each other collaboratively complete the puzzle. They typically work well together when completing it but it has also provided an opportunity for students to work on skills relating to group work.\r\n\r\nYour donation has been very valued in my classroom, and I will forever be grateful for receiving your generous donation, especially with it being my first year teaching. I have loved getting to see my current students enjoy the supplies and games, and I am looking forward to seeing my future students have these materials to use as well.","fullyFundedDate":1766019721141,"projectUrl":"project/fun-multiplication-practice-calculator/9952389/","projectTitle":"Fun Multiplication Practice & Calculators","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rutledge","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10378240"},{"teacherId":7953599,"projectId":9950447,"letterContent":"I am using the materials I received to fill my weekly prize jar. Students earn tickets throughout the week for being awesome, exhibiting positive behaviors, and being positive role models within the classroom. \r\n\r\nOn Fridays we have a raffle where I pull a few tickets from each class. Students pick a prize from the prize box. Your support has made a meaningful difference in how we teach emotion regulation and social skills in our small-group setting. For example, we use the materials as hands-on tools during lessons and also as incentives for students to earn through positive behaviors, tracked by our classroom point system. This approach has really helped motivate and engage the students in their learning!\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, they were so excited! They love earning time with the Legos and receiving the special snacks as rewards. The visuals you provided bring life to our classroom. The relaxation and sensory toys are a big hit —they are used both in our Reset space for calming moments and at desks to help with focus. These tools have truly enhanced their ability to self-regulate and stay engaged.\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to continue using these wonderful materials in the next school year with a new group of students. They will be an important part of helping our incoming students navigate the emotional, social, and academic challenges of middle school.
